Bobby Short in Town
By Tatiana Pahlen

In May or November
Midst spring or fall
Key to remember,
in town is Bobby Short.
I'm rushing to see
the polished shows
His songs are pensive,
like his chic "Old World".
He's throws to the throng
His burnished jokes,
if the laughter is loud,
means, Bobby Short talks.
And intensely quiet,
when he sets to sing,
He makes me cry
With "A kiss is just a kiss."
Past twenty sixth seasons
Since they played at the Carlyle;
A virtual trio
is much lovable.
In the band – a soulful drama
and a smashing double bass.
All exuding splendor;
embrace those precious days.
