Camelot Descending
A Tribute to John Kennedy Jr.
By Tatiana Pahlen

Reaching the heights,
descending to the ground . . .
Who pulled these strings,
can you stretch your doubt?
Was it God's or the devil's craft?
Did you hear their cackle?
Was it laughter or cry?
Dice on the table:
one cheating player;
The bet went high on the pool of air.
A fog clutched the wingtips,
you dared to look down:
earth mirrored sky
with waters, like ground.
Seconds away from the world's despair,
they gambled your life . . .
Your soul's been spared.

Once bravely saluting at your father's grave . . .
Your realm is the ocean
Amidst emerald waves . . .
