The Queen of diamonds,
a grand Dame Liz,
The most glamorous
in the Show Biz;
a stunning woman,
She drove men wild
with a vibrant drive,
and lust for love.

In her magnetic violet eyes
the current swelled to a high tide.
Born breaking hearts,
She loved her men,
Known hugely for being humane.

A fervent fighter against Aids,
She drew millions to the quest.
Surrounded by a magic Mantra
ever seductress in Cleopatra,
Impeccable in her craft!

None were afraid of Virginia Wolf,
a drunken, cursing Martha,
gaining her weight for the wicked part,
she played opposite her real life partner,
Richard Burton;
Together they made art.

The intensity of their love affair
Burnt through the screen and tabloids;
The passionate pair let it all bare,
provoking, angering Pope;
Both equally matched each other
in scotch and scorching roles.

Her other marriages were transit times,
A fleet of passing numbers,
She was eternally loyal to Burton,
And will be forever remembered
For her cause she founded
Helping the victims of Aids
