Harmony of Rain
By Tatiana
Pahlen
A tropical storm is like an instrument,
Switching tunes with a magic wand;
sometimes it sounds like a passing train
or a rowdy orchestra in the pit,
Shifting gleefully the musical chairs.
It’s hitting harder on the heads of palms;
Standing tall their leaves are bowing.
Washed out trees bear more fruits;
The air is cleansing with each drop,
but breed mosquitoes along with wasps.
The drums are forceful on the roof
Deafen the others for a span of time,
Then cymbals join along with flutes,
raging together in a short weep,
Before all ceased with a sudden whim.
