Head On

I’m petrified to watch the news,
trapped between two rivals,
The CNN or Fox Channel views,
in a scuffle to enlarge
their rating levels,
 both induce
 suffering infomercials;
All I hear in loud perks:
“Head On,
Apply directly where it hurts.”
The news is pharmaceutical!
 
Can we be cured from these mass headaches,
inflated by the media;
Endless threats from Chinese toys,
from tainted fish or wheat gluten?
 
More on Stock Market outrage:
The mortgages are failing;
“Apply directly where it hurts,”
if you arrange coverage.
 
But how can you soothe pain
when war is far from over?
Death scores surface in vain;
 callous to absorb
directly where it hurts,
though, you may survive foreclosure...
