Live to the Fullest

Feasting on lobster, washed down
with Veuve Clicquot reveled on my birthday.
The crispy napkin is heedfully secured
between my legs filled with ice
and neatly tightened in the corners
to avoid water spill on my silk dress.
Ice is easing the pain in my knees,
smashed on the way to a surprise party,
where I toast another year of making it through 2012.
Smiling away, despite anguished
pain, after taking a fall in the steady rain,
drenched with excitement.
Life is a gift to be cherished
until the end of the Gospel song,
and the last angel’s call
for the final judgment.
Live to the fullest, feeling alive!
