Wireless Anyone?
By Tatiana Pahlen

Are the cellular phones ruling the world?
They ring everywhere!
You can't get through a service in the temple
or church without it's interfering.
Imagine, a vocalist gets a call
and sings back to a headset on stage;
Opera anyone?
A heart surgeon in the act is buzzing a midwife,
his secret friend who performs labor in the next room
as she prompts: "Push! Push!
Are you nuts! Can't psuh her heart out!"

Clasping a T-Mobile with fingers white from chalk,
a pupil cahts with a cousin
while the teacher dials the lawyer before splitting with his wife.
Wireless anyone?
Can we live without this specter?
If we can, shall we leave it at home?
There is no importance in its eternal amity.
It's healthier to converse face to face once,
than seven times through the receiver. Isn't it?
