Set Free
By Tatiana
Pahlen
Trotting along the beach,
pausing to snap vintage shots
of posing newlywed’s
Paradise found on Dominican soil
under the palm shelter.
Smooth wind in my face
clears my soul
My feet move faster,
avoiding the waves and ornate sand castles,
Built to last till the tide takes place.
Passing the monarch butterflies,
I’m ready to embrace the universe
In the sweet name of Liberty
Once lost and found anew by Dr. Paul,
whose image engraved
on my T-shirt I’m wearing
to spread his message:
The rights to Bear Arms!
I feel liberated at last.
My frame is sailing, set free.
