Waves of Freedom
By Tatiana
Pahlen
The waves are curling against the reef,
Sweeping swimmers off their feet;
There is no panic, no alert,
all gladly gave in and merely float.
Tuning in to whispers from the dancing palms,
I charm mosquitoes, fear wasps.
The sand is glistering, air is a balm;
Joyful children, parents’ gasps.
After the rain, the sky is blue;
a few clouds going astray,
along with the copter
that lost its way,
following a dragonfly
around the bay.
Feeling emboldened,
I jumped into the waves
And found freedom, never failed.
