The Commander in Mis’chief

This nag is skillfully obnoxious,
a close insider in Washington
with each endorsement his chances lessen
He’s sly, pragmatic and wanton.
The former speaker is an ace in speech!
A sloppy flip-flopper, Newt Gingrich!
His tires are flat, he couldn’t run,
The donors forsake him,
Betrayed by Trump.
Newt wants to avenge
but one by one,
his backers abandoned
this nagging Grinch!
A crying wolf,
Since he was dumped
by a casino mogul,
that shut off his
funding
Bitter and frisky,
He admits his lapse,
Blaming the media,
all Republican chaps.
Stubborn and spiteful,
He believes he could win.
Claims he loves animals,
Yet was bit by a penguin!
One thing, however,
Newt could achieve:
As the Commander in Mis’chief
He could play Benny Hill!
